Edward
Boilini attended Indiana
University (A.B. in Psychology) and Butler University (M.S.in Education). Interested in
photography since the mid-1960s, he began to work with motion pictures in
1970. From 1974-1975 he worked as a V.I.S.T.A. (Volunteers In Service to America) volunteer with the Community Center in Wilson, North Carolina. During the late1970s he worked in the cable television industry, both
in production and the creation and implementation of training programs for
the use of small format video equipment. From 1978 to 1993 he worked with
Butler University to develop and utilize instructional technology. In 1988,
1991, and 1993, he received the Master of Arts Fellowship from the Indiana
Arts Commission for a body of work that spans film, video, computer animation
and interactive technology. In 1991, his work was exhibited at the European
Media Arts Festival. In 1992 he was awarded a Regional Fellowship from the
American Film Institute and The Center for New Television. Recently his
digital video work won honors at the QuickTime Festivals in Boston and San
Francisco and was displayed as part of a program organized by The AFI Advanced
Technology Programs for the 12th National Video Festival. In 1999, he was
awarded The Creative Renewal Fellowship through The Arts Council of Indianapolis.
From 2005 to the present he has resided in Baltimore, MD. His work was most recently exhibited at 25th Annual Juried Show, Pleiades Gallery 530 West 25th, New York City. Since 1981, the work of Edward Boilini has been broadcast, cable cast and
exhibited both in galleries and festivals in the U.S.A., Europe, Asia and Australia. |
